I had the privilege to spearhead the design of Rush's 'Light Lager' tap handle, in cooperation with Henderson Brewing Co. This tap handle was unveiled at Henderson Brewing Co's annual 'Rush Day' event in August of 2024.
01 - ideation
The initial song the band wanted to base this off of was "YYZ". While listening to the song, my first ideas were jotted down within my sketchbook and then put into low fidelity renderings in Photoshop.
02 - Refinement
The band loved the smooth hourglass shape that was proposed above. During the design process an urgent branding update was required, turning the initial golden concepts blue.
03 - final design
After a few explorations of graphic design to establish the text layout, it was ready for me to 3D sculpt & send off to manufacturing. The final handle in use can be seen from Rush's Instagram post below:
